This policy covers ProRank SEO products for WordPress and Shopify.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to ProRank SEO's WordPress plugin, Shopify app, web application, account portal, and related services.
It explains what data we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to customers, merchants, and site owners.
2. Information We Collect
We collect account and contact details such as name, email address, company name, billing contact, and support communications.
For WordPress customers, we may collect license status, site URL, plugin version, activation data, and technical diagnostics needed to validate licenses and support the product.
For Shopify merchants, we may collect shop identifiers, myshopify domain, installed scopes, SEO settings, schema settings, sitemap and robots preferences, redirect and link settings, image job history, audit history, notification preferences, and billing plan status.
When optional integrations are enabled, we may collect and process Google tokens and Search Console or Merchant Center data, review provider credentials and synced review aggregates, and other third-party data needed to provide the connected feature.
When AI features are used, prompts, page metadata, content snippets, store details, and generated outputs may be processed to produce requested results.
We also collect technical usage and security data such as IP address, device or browser information, request logs, error logs, and abuse-prevention signals.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to provide the service, authenticate users, manage subscriptions and licenses, process billing, deliver support, monitor reliability, prevent abuse, improve the product, and comply with legal obligations.
For Shopify specifically, this includes running audits, generating schema and metadata recommendations, processing image jobs, handling notifications, logging 404 events or redirect suggestions when enabled, and operating optional integrations such as Search Console, IndexNow, review sync, and AI features.
4. AI Processing
ProRank uses server-side AI providers to power selected features such as metadata generation, Autopilot suggestions, and content or SEO assistance.
For the Shopify app, customers do not need to provide their own Gemini API key. Requests are made through ProRank's server-side infrastructure, with plan limits, usage controls, and abuse protection managed by ProRank.
Some ProRank products may support bring-your-own-key workflows where explicitly offered, but that is product-specific and not the default model for the Shopify app.
5. Storage and Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including access controls, encrypted transport, authentication safeguards, and restricted operational access.
Where ProRank stores integration secrets or tokens, including Google tokens and supported review-provider credentials, they are stored using protected server-side controls and encrypted storage where applicable.
6. Third-Party Services and Sharing
We may share data with service providers only where needed to deliver the service, including Shopify, payment processors, hosting providers, email delivery providers, AI model providers, analytics providers, Google APIs, and supported review or shopping integrations enabled by the customer.
We do not sell personal data or merchant store data.
We may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the security, rights, or property of ProRank, our users, or others.
7. Data Retention
We retain data for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account history, meet tax and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse.
Examples include subscription and transaction records, support communications, audit and job history, and security logs. Connected tokens or credentials are retained until disconnected, rotated, deleted, or no longer required for the enabled feature.
When an app is uninstalled or an account is closed, ProRank will delete or de-identify data when reasonably practicable unless retention is required for security, fraud prevention, accounting, legal, or operational recovery purposes.
8. Customer Choices and Rights
Customers can manage many settings directly inside the product, including connected integrations, notification preferences, and installed features.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection. To make a privacy request, contact admin@prorank.io.
9. International Processing
ProRank and its service providers may process data in countries other than the customer's own country. By using the service, you understand that data may be transferred and processed where ProRank or its providers operate, subject to appropriate safeguards where required.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, by providing additional notice.
