How to Set Up Agentic SEO
Step 1: Navigate to the Feature
Go to WordPress Admin → ProRank SEO → Agentic SEO. Premium sites may also have related endpoint controls under Technical SEO → AI Discovery.
Step 2: Enable the Feature
Enable llms.txt and open https://yoursite.com/llms.txt to confirm the file is publicly reachable.
Step 3: Run Site Audit
llms.txt, accessible links, accessible buttons, form controls, and layout stability.
/schema-map, /ask, /mcp initialise, tools list, tool schemas, and ask tool-call readiness.
Step 4: Configure Settings
Depending on edition and enabled modules, you can configure:
- Whether Agentic SEO checks run during Site Audit
- Whether AI Discovery endpoints are enabled
- Which important pages Premium includes in richer llms.txt output
- When to refresh or rebuild the discovery cache
Step 5: Review Findings

Manual Page Selection Guide
When using manual selection mode, you can specify pages for different categories:

How AI Tools Use llms.txt
Currently, AI tools don't automatically discover llms.txt files. You need to actively provide them:
- Direct Link Method:
Paste your llms.txt URL directly in your prompt: "Learn about my business from example.com/llms.txt"
- Copy Content Method:
Copy the llms.txt content and paste it into your conversation for immediate context
- File Upload Method:
Download and upload the file to AI tools that support file attachments
Troubleshooting
Files Not Accessible
If your llms.txt files return 404 errors:
- Ensure the feature is enabled in settings
- Generate the files (served immediately when enabled)
- Flush permalinks: Settings → Permalinks → Save Changes
- Check for conflicting plugins or security rules
Content Not Updating
If changes aren't reflected in llms.txt:
- Manually regenerate files after major changes
- Check if weekly auto-update is enabled
- Clear any caching plugins or CDN cache
- Verify the correct pages are selected
Pages Missing in Automatic Mode
If important pages aren't included automatically:
- Switch to manual mode for full control
- Ensure pages are published (not draft)
- Check the maximum pages setting
- Verify page slugs match common patterns (about, contact, etc.)
